Project Overview
This beautiful charming residential property in Milton, Ontario was updated over the years with five different renovations to reflect the owners’ lifestyle. Like every project, this one was had its design details and some complications that allowed us to use our creativity in achieving the homeowners’ vision for their space.
Maintaining colour consistency through the various phases was extremely crucial in order to present a harmonious look throughout the home. SGi’s tight binning process for the LEDs created the much needed platform to enable this. This project was at an early stage in the LED market and allowed us to show our niche and strength in this area.

SGi Recommendations
We recommended a 3000K colour temperature for general lighting fixtures installed on dimmers.

Technical
SGi provided lighting solutions for:
General Illumination
Vaulted ceilings required lighting to be installed at an angle but shining downwards towards the living area. Our Swivel Downlights provided the perfect fixture option for this. On dimmer switches the LED Downlights could be bright and fun for children birthday parties, or soft and subtle for adult candle-light dinners.
The clients chose the silver finish to add the little sparkle to their home.

Entertainment Lighting
The patio door off the kitchen led to the hot tub and the family’s main outdoor living space. A new fence gave them the privacy and could be seen from anywhere inside the house. Although nicely crafted, such an expanse of wood was quite a dominant feature to contend with. We had to find a way to include it instead of allowing it to become the elephant in the room.
With some creative thinking the looming wooden structure became the perfect host for the colour changing flex lights concealed under the bow shaped accent boards. The RGB lights provided the fun atmosphere to this entertainment area and the fence quickly became an attraction for homeowners and guests of all ages. Easy dimming controls on the hand held remote control made it easy for the clients to enjoy their lights from inside or outside.
